Don't get caught off guard.....I have reported this scam 3 times to the Patrol in the last 2 months of a car that appears to be broken down, needs gas, etc.  The vehicle is a black Izuzu and the car appears to be stalled and the driver is asking for assistance.  I have seen him on Chestnut and Constantinople, and Marengo (twice).  On one occasion I informed a young man who was helping push the car across Constantinople St that it was a scam.  I reported to patrol and then a few minutes later went back to Constantinople, and amazingly the car was gone!  This happened a year or so ago... same scam, but a different car.
